When winter draws near and the holiday season approaches we all look forward to warmth, comfort and the warm glow of candlelight. Whether your holiday celebration includes Christmas, Hanukkah or Kwanzaa, we hope that Candle-lite candles are part of your festivities.

Every candle that Candle-lite manufactures, bears a safety and performance label. Our practice of extensive testing and our long history of producing candles to the highest quality standards have enabled us to compile the proper guidelines for safe and efficient candle burning.

A NEW LOOK FOR WARNING LABELS

Candle-lite is committed to consumer safety and the ongoing efforts of the industry to reduce accidental candle fires. This work has been accomplished through the joint efforts of members of the National Candle Association (NCA.)

ASTM F-2058 is the industry standard that requires fire-safety warning labels to be placed on candles or their packaging.

The labeling standard was revised in October 2007 to include the optional use of NCA-developed "pictograms" in conjunction with the warning label's written precautions. The use of these icons on warning labels is expected to heighten consumer awareness of candle safety precautions and to eventually replace written warnings with universally recognized and understood safety symbols.

Candle-lite has already taken the first steps to implement this process and soon you will be seeing these safety pictograms on new product introduced in the coming months. See what these pictograms look like!
